What is Depression?

What Types of Depression are there?

- Dysthymia - a milder form of depression
- Seasonal Affective Disorders - the recurrence of symptoms during certain seasons
- Postpartum Depression - occurs in women who have recently given birth
- Bipolar Disorder - usually refered to as manic depression with extremes of high and low mood swings
Who gets Depression?
Anyone can suffer from depression; men, women, the elderly and even children. It is usually caused by physical changes in the brain and an imbalance of a type of chemical that sends out signals that make you feel depressed. That is why medication is used to adjust the chemicals in the brain to normal levels.
